One of the most important aspects when creating custom labels is to pick the right material. This is important for two reasons.
You want the label to stick to the product package
It should be able to deliver the intended look and feel, and communicate the planned message
So, how do you pick the right label material? Here are 5 questions you can ask.
What is it being applied on?
The material of the product package plays a very big role in deciding the right label material. Label materials and adhesives react differently with different product materials and their surfaces. Cardboard or uncoated paper packaging is the easiest; any paper label with a permanent adhesive will work fine. Coated paper, on the other hand, has a waxy or slick surface. Plastic or squeezable tubes need additional considerations; polyolefin labels are best suited for such containers.
